My Services
If you are concerned about your child’s reading, writing, spelling or learning progress, a full diagnostic assessment can help you understand how your child learns best and what support will make the biggest difference.
This in-depth assessment is designed to build a clear picture of your child or young person’s strengths, needs and learning profile. The assessment findings are carefully analysed and interpreted in line with current SASC standards, so you can be confident that any identification is thorough, evidence-based and meaningful.
What does the assessment include?
Your child will complete a range of carefully chosen activities and tasks in a calm, supportive environment. These explore:
Underlying ability – how your child thinks and learns
Cognitive processing – skills such as memory, processing speed and phonological awareness
Attainment – reading, spelling and writing skills
The assessment is child-friendly and paced carefully to help your child feel at ease and able to do their best.
What does the written report include?
You will receive a detailed 30+ page written report, written in line with current SASC guidelines. More information can be found at www.sasc.org.uk.
The report includes:
A clear explanation of assessment results
A full learning profile showing strengths and areas of difficulty
Confirmation of dyslexia where criteria are met
Practical recommendations for school and home
Advice for Quality First Teaching and individual support
Guidance on exam access arrangements where appropriate
Everything is tailored specifically to your child, so the report can be used immediately by schools, tutors and families to support learning.
How long does the assessment take?
The assessment itself takes approximately 3 hours.
This allows time to build rapport, complete all assessments and ensure your child is not rushed.
How much does the assessment cost
The full assessment and comprehensive written report costs £550.
Where does the assessment take place?
Assessments are completed in person and can take place in your home or your child’s school.
I am based near Loughborough and work across Leicestershire and the East Midlands. I will happily travel up to 20 miles, with additional travel charges applying beyond this distance.
