Terms of Service

1. Service Overview

Leicestershire Dyslexia Specialist provides specialist dyslexia assessments for children and young people. Assessments include a one-to-one assessment session and a comprehensive written report outlining strengths, areas of difficulty and recommendations.

 

2. Booking and Payment

  • A booking is confirmed once full payment has been received.

  • Payment must be made in advance via bank transfer.

  • The current fee for a full diagnostic assessment is £550.

 

3. Cancellations and Rescheduling

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule an assessment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

  • Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice may be non-refundable.

  • In exceptional circumstances, discretion may be applied.

 

4. The Assessment Process

  • The assessment typically lasts around 3 hours and may take place at home or school.

  • A detailed written report (approximately 30+ pages) will be provided following the assessment.

  • Report turnaround time is typically within 21 days. 

 

5. Nature of the Assessment

  • The assessment is conducted in line with professional guidelines (e.g. SASC).

  • A diagnosis of dyslexia is based on the evidence gathered during the assessment process.

  • While every care is taken to ensure accuracy, the assessment represents a professional judgement at a given point in time.

 

6. Use of the Report

  • The report is intended to support understanding and inform next steps for home and school.

  • It may be used to support applications for exam access arrangements, where appropriate, in line with JCQ guidelines.

  • The report remains the intellectual property of Leicestershire Dyslexia Specialist and should not be altered.

 

7. Confidentiality

  • All information provided is treated as confidential and handled in accordance with data protection regulations (UK GDPR).

  • Information will only be shared with third parties (e.g. schools) with parental consent.

 

8. Data Protection

  • Personal data will be stored securely and used only for the purposes of providing the assessment service.

  • You have the right to request access to your data.

 

9. Limitation of Liability

  • Leicestershire Dyslexia Specialist shall not be held liable for decisions made by third parties (e.g. schools, examination boards) based on the report.
